ABOUT ME

WTF is this guy's problem?

LONG BIO

Amran Gowani is a former organic chemist and financial analyst turned full-time stay-at-home dad and author.

By leveraging his lifelong love of film, literature, and video games—and drawing upon his decade-plus of surreal and disturbing experiences across Big Pharma and Wall Street—he crafted his blistering novel Leverage. The novel was named a Best Book of 2025 by CrimeReads.

Amran is also a prolific content creator and over the last four years he has written and produced hundreds of humorous personal essays and satirical short-form pieces. His entire collection can be found at AmranGowani.com. He periodically guest hosts the Diverse Voices Book Review podcast, too, which airs on KAZI Public Radio in Austin, Texas.

When Amran’s not hanging out with imaginary people in imaginary places, he enjoys biking around the great city of Chicago, bouldering with his extraordinary wife Felicia, and reading comic books with his two wildly imaginative and deeply ungrateful children.

"AI" ATTESTATION

I don't mess around with "AI"—or more accurately large language models (LLMs)—in any novel writing capacity (e.g., drafting, ideation, research, etc.) nor do I have any intention of doing so anytime soon.
