May 7, 2024 marks the second birthday of this newsletter/publication.
It’s surreal to consider what’s changed since I launched Field Research on that fateful Saturday morning two years ago.
Back then, I was a depressed dad with an email blog, 162 unwittingly imported subscribers, a quarter-cooked manuscript, and unhealthy delusions of grandeur.
Now I’m a depressed dad with an email blog, almost 1,200 complicit readers, a bona fide book deal with a Big Five publishing house, and unhealthy delusions of grandeur.
The support of this community has been amazing, and I’m extremely grateful for everyone who’s helped me and followed along on this wild AF journey.
Here’s to the next two years — or at least until Substack runs out of money.
